Ski holidays are full of attractive pastimes. Whether you want to carve your way down fresh corduroy slopes, pump powder down the back of the mountain, let loose on the dancefloor at the après-ski or sit outside the café at the summit of the peak with a mug of hot chocolate, the mountain villages are full of activities to pass the time. Yet while some of these activities are more forgiving than others, all call for proper attire. That’s why we’ve chosen to present four different styles for four different types of skiers.

THE PISTE

On the slopes, most skiers stick to the pistes. They rise at the crack of dawn and catch the first lift to the summit in the hope of being the first to carve their way down slopes of untouched corduroy snow. Then they spend the rest of the day investigating all the nooks and crannies of the lift system. The clothes you wear should be comfortable and warm, with a focus on a wind-repellent outer layer that protects you from the chilly wind. OFF-PISTE

For those with a taste for the extreme, the real skiing takes place off-piste. THE APRÈS-SKI

At the après-ski, the opposite rules apply. Here, form goes before function in all situations.
